No Commands (Digimon World No Commands Challenge)
5Remember the dreaded rematch that you all had to have against Garurumon in Freezeland? The battle where you're not allowed to assist your Digimon during the fight? You can't use any items or Finishes, nor are you able to command your Digimon in any sort of way? Can you imagine a challenge where you have to go by those rules throughout the entire game? Well, that's exactly what this challenge is!
This is a No Commands Challenge for Digimon World. A challenge where I have to earn 100 Prosperity Points while not being allowed to command my Digimon in any of the battles that I get into. I'm not allowed to use any items during battles. I'm not allowed to use any Finishes during battles. I'm not allowed to use any commands during battles, including the Run command. There are no restrictions on me using items outside of battles, but the use of items during battles is strictly prohibited. There are no restrictions on what techniques I can learn/use, but I won't be able to influence those techniques with commands or use any Finishes alongside the techniques. This is pretty much a No In-Battle Items Challenge, a No Finishes Challenge and a No Commands Challenge all merged into one.
I started the game with Agumon as my Digimon, and defeated the opposing Agumon who challenges you in the Native Forest. I recruited Betamon, Coelamon and Centarumon, while collecting a Mouldy Meat and HiSpeed Disk from the Amida Forest. I would've grinded for a Happy Mushroom at the Amida Forest as well but this turned out not to be necessary as I found one in the Native Forest. The Mouldy Meat was to be used to make a suitable Digimon sick in Freezeland so that Fridgimon would rescue us. The Happy Mushroom and HiSpeed Disk were to be traded with the Mojyamons in Freezeland. When it comes to battles I don't think that the Brain Stat will have any usefulness in this challenge. However, since I was aiming to Digivolve to Greymon I did get my Attack, Defense, Speed and Brains all up to 100 as this is the stat requirement for Greymon.
I was successful with Digivolving to Greymon. From there I proceeded by recruiting Kunemon, Palmon, Bakemon, Penguinmon, Sukamon, Biyomon, Elecmon, Unimon, Meramon, Birdramon, Shellmon, Greymon, Angemon, Seadramon, Kuwagamon, Kabuterimon, Vegiemon, Whamon, Mojyamon, Ninjamon, Ogremon, Drimogemon and Kokatorimon. I also took the initial step towards recruiting Fridgimon by having him rescue us in Freezeland after I made Greymon sick with the Mouldy Meat. I defeated Otamamon at the Geko Swamp, granting myself access to the Volume Villa and purchasing the Amazing Rod. I learned Heat Laser, Magma Bomb and Red Inferno from the DarkRizamons in Overdell. I learned Fire Tower from the Agumon outside of the Ogre Fortress, as well as Dynamite Kick from a NiseDrimogemon in Gear Savanna. This was all in preparation to learning Prominence Beam by training Brains. I defeated Tyrannomon and Meteormon at the Dino Region but chose not to recruit Tyrannomon straight away as I wanted Meramon to be the only Digimon working at the Restaurant for the time being. When catching Seadramon I had him teach me Aqua Magic, Winter Blast and Giga Freeze before taking me to Beetle Land; this was something that would later help with learning Ice Statue.
I couldn't go any further in that lifespan; Greymon faded away. I chose the Pink Egg and started afresh with Yuramon, who Digivolved to Tanemon. I took advantage of the Tanemon Bug which enabled me to upgrade the whole of the Green Gym. I Digivoled from Tanemon to Palmon, and then from Palmon to Numemon. I did the initial part of Grey Lord's Mansion with Numemon as my Digimon, before taking him to Toy Town and Digivolving to Monzaemon. I spoke to the Robot Digimon so that he unlocked the door which leads towards WaruMonzaemon. I made it past the guards in Factorial Town so that I'd have access to Giromon, but I chose not to fight him in that lifespan with Monzaemon. I recruited Leomon and Monochromon but then allowed Monzaemon to fade away.
The Pink Egg was my choice of egg again, except the Rookie Digimon that I Digivolved to was Betamon. I continued to focus on Digivolutions; I Digivolved to Seadramon, and then to Megadramon. I learned Ice Statue from the IceDevimons in Freezeland, and this was made easier by me already knowing Giga Freeze. I then saw to the rest of the game with Megadramon as my Digimon, making it up to 100 Prosperity Points. I was able to enter Grey Lord's Mansion because Megadramon is a Virus Digimon. I was able to recruit Fridgimon because I had already taken the first step towards recruiting him, and Megadramon fulfilled the criteria for the final step. I was able to reach WaruMonzaemon because the door that leads towards him got unlocked when I had Monzaemon as my Digimon.
