No Digivolving, No Counters, Kurt% (1/5, Digimon World 2003 Challenge)
Welcome to my challenge for Digimon World 2003.
This is a challenge where I'm not allowed to Digivolve. The restriction of not being allowed to Digivolve includes Blast Digivolutions; these are not allowed. I'm also not allowed to use any counters. This challenge is Kurt%, which means that as well as having to defeat Galacticmon I have to obtain the Five Strongest Epic Items and defeat the Four Bonus Leaders and Kurt. Although it isn't stated in the video or title, I'm also not allowed to inflict status harm or one-hit-knock-outs (1hko) upon opponents. Some weapons can inflict status harm or 1hko upon opponents, and therefore the use of these weapons would be very risky because if they do inflict status harm or a 1hko then I would fail the challenge.
To help with this challenge, I ensured that I always achieved perfection when training with my main Digimon; Kotemon. By this, I mean that I ensured that I didn't have any failures when training with Kotemon. I did this by always saving before training, and reloading if the training didn't go perfectly. If the training did go perfectly then I would continue but save before attempting more training. I also tried to make sure that I had the best equipment that was available to me.
This is part 1 of 5.
In this part I started with Kotemon, Renamon and Patamon. I grinded in the Central Park until Kotemon reached level 3 before going any further with the game. Getting the Tree Boots and Fishing Rod was an early priority of mine, even though I had no intention on using the Tree Boots. The fishing rod was something that I planned to use for grinding.
I used the Protocol Forest as a grind spot against the Dokugumons until I got Kotemon up to level 11. This was followed by me grinding against Coelamons by using the Fishing Rod at the Central Park until Kotemon reached level 19. I continued with the game by defeating Master Tyrannomon, the East Sector Leader and Keith. I then did more grinding against Coelamons at the Central Park until Kotemon reached level 25. From there I proceeded with the game until I was able to summon Submarimon. I did more grinding against Coelamons at the Central park until Kotemon reached level 29. I then took a pause from grinding because I needed to keep Kotemon under level 30 in order for Veemon's DRI Agent to take interest in me. I didn't need to consult Veemon's DRI Agent (I didn't need to get Veemon added as a potential partner) but I chose to out of preference. Defeating the West Sector Leader was the requirement for Veemon's DRI Agent spawning. When I was done Shellmon was my new source of grinding, and this took place by using the Fishing Rod at the South Cape. I did this until Kotemon's strength was in excess of 900, by this point he was level 35. As well as seeing to Veemon's DRI Agent, I also saw to the DRI Agents for Agumon and Guilmon. I then went back to grinding, with the Numemons in the Jungle Shrine being the Digimon that I grinded against. Although, by this stage it was about getting Renamon and Guilmon up to level 45, as well as improving Kotemon. I decided to take a pause from the grinding and head for the West Sector in pursuit of Kumamon's DRI Agent and Monmon's DRI Agent.
The part ended with Kotemon being at level 37, Renamon at level 20 and Guilmon at level 11.
