========================
No One Lives Forever is a first person shooter release by the Monolith Studios. The game was well received at the time, among the other games by the same developer like the F.E.A.R. series, Blood series and Shogo.

NOLF's story plays during the 60s and the game shows it everywhere. The main character Cate Archer is a thief turned spy for the government organization UNITY. The game's atmosphere is somewhere between Austin Powers and James Bond. You eliminate a lot of bad guys and bosses with wide arsenal of weapons, use a surprising amount of spy gadgets and witness a lot of funny interactions and jokes. The game's humorous moments have to be mentioned as they are numerous and well written. Also the locations of the levels are extremely wide spread around the globe and feature night and day time. So every mission seems to use new graphical assets and feels different from the others.

There's only very few downside and some of them are related to the age of the game. The hard difficulty is very challenging towards the end, especially in the boss fights, and relies too much on quick saving. Most levels are including maze-like sections where the mission objectives are hidden. This can keep the player stuck in some levels until you find the exact spot of the objective. It does not help that sometimes the mission objectives have to be solved in any order (specifically not from top to bottom).

Overall, the game is highly recommended for people who enjoy classical shooters from the "good old times" as the setting is unique and the implementation is well. Just better play on normal or easy difficulty.
