Too many people have been conditioned to mine alone. This is Palia! There is no alone! Anything you do with others is a benefit!
Here I demonstrate just one of these, in mining. The same thing exists with all gathering!
Loggin: if you hit the tree once, you get full reward when the tree falls from others logging it.
Fishing: if you fish near others, then every successful catch by them gives you a bonus, which is cumulative (up to a point).
Hunting: hitting an animal once is enough for full credit of the kill and loot
Gathering; all items in the world to gather are instanced to you. You do not steal from anyone else.
