Nocturna is a Melodic Death Metal band from Lebanon founded in 2006
Biography
What started as a local musical project back in 2006, ended up with a band having a promising potential from the Middle Eastern soil.
Nocturna, wearing the influence of the name from a song performed by no other than the Portuguese band Moonspell, has widely spread its name in the local Lebanese Metal Scene performing as a main act in concerts like "Metal Blast", "The Final Call", "Rocking The Woods" and having participated in the official 2011 Global Battle of the Bands.
Though the band may have started that particular project under the influence of the Doom Metal genre, later on in 2009 the band oriented towards a much more aggressive style, with remarkable innovations and determined Musical strength.
The band's style is a mix of down tuned distorted guitars with heavy riffs, epic keyboards/synth, all in all accompanied by bulky drum lines and topped with harsh low pitch vocals to create a unique fusion the band members work so hard in achieving fueled by each and every member's own musical influences.
Nocturna is currently working on the debut album entitled "The Gates of Peirah" (hopefully to be released in early 2015), a concept album created by the band's very own:
- Charbel Kareh, the only remaining former member, dueling with Michel Kammouj on guitars.
- Toufic Fakhry, on Bass Guitar.
- Habib Arbid, on Vocals.
- Walead Khalifeh, on Keyboards.
- Shady "El Marid" Abou Fayad, on drums.
Though the band's name "Nocturna" has been discussed many times, viewing that there are multiple talents sharing the name spread worldwide and that there is still no rights of ownership yet, the members believe that the name will prevail as it's because said name is believed to be the roots of the concept from which Nocturna grew fond of.
