"Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel" by Games Farm is a top-down horde-survival RPG. Set in a dark fantasy world built around Norse mythology, fight infinite waves of monsters and undead minions in various planescapes to the timer. Similar to games like "Vampire Survivors", "Halls of Torment" and "Death Must Die", you augment your character through choosing stat boosts or god boons per level, equipping weapons, and applying runes to runs.
The key difference, however, is how you WIN. Sure, you can run out the timer by surviving waves of enemies, but that's not the goal. Each area has a set of Objectives to complete, increasing in amount per difficulty but also allowing for greater choice the higher you go. If you complete these objectives before the timer runs out, you get the opportunity to summon the area's final boss. Only by defeating it will you emerge victorious.
The game is slated to be released in Early Access on Steam on the 22nd of January (AEDT), but there's a free and updated holiday demo to try out beforehand. Give it a go and be sure to wishlist the game!
