First 5k in a while maybe in like 3 years , all I've been doing has been 21k / 10k "races" more like trying to survive, honestly the decision to join this one is a bit impulsive. 2 days before this I set out a time trial so my legs were still just a bit sore. And like "repeats of whatever" on my strava.

I honestly was hoping that maybe there would be no "fast" runners and somehow win or place in the top 10, I've yet to know because of official results will update once it comes out probably in like 1 - 3 days. This time I was happy with my warm up, but I decided to eat at 7-Eleven because we had more time like 1 hour, BIG MISTAKE.

I already ate enough bananas man, like 5. And a bread fuwa fuwa matcha thing + hot chocolate. That should have been enough fuel for a 5k, heck, even less. Anyways here we are at the start of the race. I run up to the line just right behind the front runners. Countdown starts, a bit surprised 50 meters in and tried to stick with what I targeted as the guy to latch onto, of course I get dropped.

1km in I noticed my stomach. Here we go. We push through the pain, remind myself a bit to push that cadence, we are now fairly passing some of the 10k runners, It's a bit satisfying trying to pass through like 100+ people or more and around 3km in I see the "Elite runners" the fast bois on the left side of the road, I can't help but cheer for them, so I clapped my hands and like shout out "lets go!" to an american runner lol did it on an instinct for some reason.

Now I noticed this kid running just a bit further up, we had the same pace. Now we are racing each other. We are pushing each other, his way of running was to run I assume his max effort and then he walks a bit then runs again, around 4km in, at the turnover, honestly this kid made me push myself more and I was glad to have someone to race with. Stomach real painful, I push on. sped up and end it off with a sprint finish. Despite everything, I am satisfied and happy.
