In this video I discuss the 'air' physics of Natural Selection 2, and compare it to the respective of Quake 3 Arena and Quake 1 (Quake World) style, in particular, strafe jumping.

Tbh I haven't played NS1 but considering it runs off the half life engine (a.k.a. GoldSource, GoldSrc, however you want to call it) I would expect its air physics to be practically the same as Q1 with exception of the air friction and center of gravity (crouching would make you able to reach higher places by reducing both of the top and bottom clearance, in Q3 it just lowers the top of your boundry box))
