1Nvidia 4080 vs 3070 vs AMD 6800 Testing Setup 11th gen intel 11900K: If the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 makes you think of the 2014-era GeForce GTX 970, you’re not alone. Allowing users to experience 1080p gaming at max settings and high frame rates while keeping the price down, the GTX 970 offered legendary performance on games like the Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight, both of which are GPU-intensive even now. And, the 3070 has shown the same promise.
It’s not a perfect comparison, of course. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 was priced at a much more reasonable $329 (about £250, AU$460), while the RTX 3070 will cost you $499 (£469, AU$809). That isn’t exactly cheap, but considering how much the last generation of Turing cards went for though, at least Nvidia didn’t bake in another price hike.
