Nvidia Ampere HDMI 2.1 is 48Gbps - LG C9 Owners Get Last Laugh?
Nvidia has confirmed that its new Ampere series of graphics cards, including the RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, will be using 12Gbps@4 lanes, amounting to 48Gbps of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.
We explain the implications for LG CX and Samsung 2020 QLED owners (these TVs' HDMI 2.1 bandwidth tops out at 40Gbps), and how 12-bit video signal can bring some benefits even on a 10-bit panel.
