Amendment: It seems mixing the 'official' OBS project PPA with stock Ubuntu repositories will get you into trouble when (trying) to install the obs-plugins package. Switching to the "obs-studio" package provided by Ubuntu doesn't happen; What does happen is that the PPA provided obs-studio is removed and (ONLY!) the obs-plugins package is installed. In this scenario the PPA doesn't have / provide the -plugins package and the -studio package from Ubuntu isn't installed as a replacement for the one provided by the PPA (can we call this a package management nightmare, or a little arrogance between maintainers?).

Solution for this scenario is simple: backup the ~/.config/obs-studio directory. Remove obs-studio, remove the PPA as a source, "apt-get update" and then install (BOTH!) obs-studio and obs-plugins (and if need be, restore the backup of your config directory if it was removed).

DO NOT install obs-plugins since it will REMOVE OBS-studio entirely! There's an issue with the repositories at time of publishing (15th of June 2020). These lines were amended after recording and publishing of this video.

Looking to install "plugins" for OBS-studio on Debian, Ubuntu or derived Linux distributions? Well, there's an issue! Yes, the obs-plugins replaces the obs-studio package (and related packages!)...
