One of the most prominent and influential physician-scientists in the US, Robert Califf, MD served as President Obama's Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), responsible for protecting public health by assuring the safety and effectiveness of drugs and medical devices. Described as *“the most qualified commissioner in FDA's History”, *Dr. Califf is a cardiologist and professor of medicine at Duke University and Stanford University, with more than 1,200 publications in the peer-reviewed literature.
A member of the Verily (Google Life Sciences) Scientific Board, Dr. Califf, shares his views on the nascent field of technology-enabled healthcare, in an interview with Paul Varghese, Verily's Head of Health Informatics.
