Obsidian Conflict - oc_return_c17 (parts 1-6) (MOD VERSION)
Starting off at poorly organized Green Bay rebel base, some rebel whose name sounds similar to a caveman's assigns you and your team to City 17 to deliver a crystal to Dr. Kleiner, but you think it's gonna be as easy like a pizza delivery?
I must say, these are some of my favorite maps in the mod! It has story, awesome mapping styles, and really fun gameplays. It's even possible to play these maps alone! The first map really felt like a Black Mesa East type place combined with a level from Highway 17. So many secrets in these levels and yet you don't even get to keep the weapons. XD I really like the puzzles in here and the ideas of where to put the monsters. The main reason why I spoke alot in this map is because it seemed fitting. For these story maps, it would be nice to be in character, plus no one was around to tell me to shut up. :P The Big Mommy battle in the third map wasn't like any other Big Mommy battle in the mod, it felt alot like Gonarch's Lair level from HL1 with her running away and whacking these net things. Now for the City 17 maps, it would seem this map takes place during the first two chapters of HL2 (and possibly the beginning of chapter 3), and I like the ideas that were put in here of evacuating civilians and even using SMG grenades to defeat a Strider! Genius I say! I even like some of the easter eggs that were put in here, like using the crystal on Kleiner's mini-teleporter. Now the only map that was too hard for me to do alone was the final one. I mean, a regenerating helicopter, so many soldiers and APCs, it ain't easy. But regardless, these maps deserve to be a separate mod itself! Well done!
