AS for the boss it's a train and has 3 parts that must be destroyed otherwise you can't attack the core the hired help is invaluable here otherwise this fight will take way longer that is if you have the money to use those attacks.
His second ex skill is just sp share so he can give some of his sp to another party member.
PS:Next time we finish off yet another characters tales, yeah I won't be doing any side quests for quite some time in fact I might save them for the post game instead since they are are at such a high level.
