Oculus Rift - Virtual FootFlyer and Oculus Maximus Demo
Was at Indienomicon on February 2014.
A few indie developers presented their games to the public. Was my first time attending Indienomicon. This was held at Envy Labs in Orlando, FL (downtown location).
My iPhone was low on battery and didn't capture some of the better moments. You get the idea though on how the games are.
The people behind Oculus Maximus stated that this was just a barebones demo. They're working on making the game like an RPG where you work on stats and work your way up to other fighters in rank. Also, right now you play with wired controllers. They'll be moving toward wireless controls soon which will also be more accurate in movement. Should be interesting to see how this game pans out. The characters you fight were definitely quirky and shows how early beta the game is in...but still was fun slashing peoples heads off.
Virtual FootFlyer was also fun to play. It was sorta like Pilot Wings for the SNES. You didn't have to go thru the rings if you didn't want to...but the game was timed to a few minutes and you only had so much time to look around in the game. There was a fan in front of you to mimic wind hitting you...and there was a motor noise behind you to mimic the motored fan behind you. It was interesting to play.
If you're in the Orlando, FL area, I recommend attending the next Indieomicon to check out what other indie developers are working on...check out: http://www.meetup.com/Indienomicon/
