Ogre Battle Random Strategies: High Sky and Tarots
Whole lot of ideas here. I also recommend the high sky gryphon for rapid movement speed as well as beast aka wild man to buff. Doll mage buffs golems (can recruit in Sharom, not district in random/neutral forest battle) too, and attack visible leader helps as much as tarot kills (liberation gets cards and after 14 you replace so use a lot when having more than a few).
Guides help for class changes and alignment (liberation can randomly boost as well as using high sky to fight the first wave and let the others finish it off if their level is lower) as it can be confusing to know guidelines. Rebalance mod is nice too as well as emulating with fast forward.
I also recommend restructuring your party if levels are unbalanced given they like swarming (revisiting old maps with a gryphon in your lord's party is free deployment, to find hidden towns or recruit monsters too) and thus messing with alignment, or making a weaker party die.
The game starts you with 9 parties and creatures in reserve and I recommend 4-6 at most as they can get the job done faster, and easier to equip and keep track of.
The 3rd battle, Sharom district has an ordeal (someone made a vid and Gilbert needs high reputation so I wouldnt bother going the extra mile past Canopus) to get Canopus but splitting his Eaglemen with low sky movement is a big advantage for any group without large creatures to move faster: https://youtu.be/lUcPLaLcoRU
