In this video, Oids, released in 1987 for the Atari ST by FTL (Faster Than Light)
Oids is a multidirectional shooter made by FTL, the software house that gave us Dungeon Master, and it's a sort of a mix between Asteroids and Thrust.
Your mission? Approach a planet, destroy the buildings where the prisoners are held, land to take them inside your ship and bring them to safety in your mothership.
Nothing much to say here, we got a well packed quality game, graphically perfect with good multi-directional scrolling; the audio is well made and fits the game well. Playability is very good once you get used to the inertia and gravity-based movement and 360 degree shooting.
