A bunch of amazingly detailed anime figures went on preorder this week. From Good Smile's Caster Scathach = Skadi to a couple of mecha musume style characters, as well as Chinese figure brands Ribose and Myethos stepping things up. However, one of the figures I'd like to discuss with you guys would be FREEing's B-style Gon Freecs from Hunter X Hunter fetching 66,000yen. Why? They very same brand is selling bunny girl figures at this scale at half the price.

Well, this isn't an unusual tactic. Bandai themselves are masters of selling nostalgia and Freeing is probably taking a note off their playbook. You see, people who fell in love with anime in the 1980s, 1990s would be rich working adults today - especially if they can afford anime merchandise. So, let's rip them off with a premium price tag for anime figures featuring classic anime characters!
