Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Assassin's Creed II", einem Action-Adventure entwickelt und veröffentlicht von Ubisoft im Jahre 2009 für Playstation 3 und Xbox360, 2010 für Windows PC, 2016 für Xbox One und Playstation 4 so wie in 2022 für die Nintendo Switch, hier gezeigt in der Playstation 3 Version.

Im Spiel übernimmt man die Rolle des jungen adligen Italieners Ezio Auditore da Firenze welcher zu Beginn des Spiels das typische Leben eines adligen, gelangweilten Jugendlichen zur Zeiten der Renessaince lebt. Doch er und seine Familie geraten schnell in die Verschwörung einer größeren Macht, von welcher er noch nicht ahnt, welche Ausmaße diese in seinem Leben annehmen wird.
Bedingt durch die dadurch eintretenden tragischen Ereignisse muss er auf schnellstem Wege sein altes Leben hinter sich lassen und zum voll ausgebildeten Assassinen heranreifen, wenn er am leben bleiben und die Verschwörung, welche fast seine ganze Familie das Leben kostete, aufdecken will.

Auch wenn der Vorgänger "Assassin's Creed" als Start der Serie im Jahre 2007 ebenfalls schon massive Achtungserfolge einfuhr dank seines damals noch relativ unverbrauchten Open World Konzepts und der Auswahl eines bis dato selten bis nie genutzten Settings, so war es doch erst der zweite Hauptteil der Reihe, der dem Assassin's Creed Franchise den endgültigen Durchbruch verschaffte. Dazu bei trugen vor allem eine unglaublich gut geschriebene und lange Story, die trotzdem niemals unter unnötigen Längen leidet und ein ebenso fantastischen Soundtrack von Großmeister Jesper Kyd so wie dem Umstand, dass die offene Welt des 2. Teils viele unglaublich sehenswerte und für die damalige Zeit wunderschön animierte Gegenden zu erkunden bot.

Zudem bilden "Assassin's Creed II", "Brotherhood" und "Revelations" die sogenannte "Ezio-Trilogie", eine der wohl schönsten und vollwertigsten Geschichten über einen Videospielcharakter, welcher Gamer in aller Welt jemals folgen durften, und welche im Falle der Vollendung mit dem Kurzfilm "Assassin's Creed Embers" einen das Leben von Ezio Auditore Da Firenze von der Geburt bis zum Tode verfolgen lassen.

In the game the player assumes the role of the young noble italian Ezio Auditore Da Firenze who at the beginning of the game lives the typical life of a bored noble youngster in the renessaince era. But he and his family soon will be the focus of the conspiracy of a greater power from which Ezio cannot fathom yet what it will mean for his life in the long run. Due to the tragic events that occured as a result he has to leave his old life behind as soon as possible and be trained to a fully fledged Assassin if he not only wishes to stay alive but also to uncover the conspiracy that costed the lives of his family.

Even though the predecessor and starting point of the franchise "Assassin's Creed" in 2007 already could garner some success for itself with a back at its time relatively new and fresh open world concept and rarely to never used setting, it was the second main installment of the franchise that brought its mainstream-breakthrough. Responsible for that were foremost an amazingly well written story which never suffered from uneccessary lengths and a likewise grandiose soundtrack from Grandmaster Jesper Kyd as well as the circumstance, that the open world of the second game in the franchise offered many locales worth seeing and back at its time beautifuly animated areas to explore.

Furthermore the three games "Assassin's Creed II", "Brotherhood" and "Revelations" together form the so called "Ezio Trilogy", one of the probably most intriguing, proper and fully-fledged stories about a video game character which gamers could ever follow, and in case of finishing it of with the short "Assassin's Creed Embers" lets players follow the life of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze from his birth to his death.
