Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Resident Evil 2", einem Survival Horror Game entwickelt von Capcom und veröffentlicht von den Angel Studios (Nintendo 64 Version) / Virgin Interactive (Windows und Playstation Versionen) im Jahre 1998 für die erste Playstation, 1999 für Windows PC so wie das Nintendo 64 in den USA und den Sega Dreamcast in Japan, 2000 für das Nintendo 64 (Japan / Europa) und den Sega Dreamcast (USA / Europa) so wie im Jahre 2003 für den Nintendo GameCube, hier gezeigt in der originalen Playstation-Fassung.
Im Spiel übernimmt man je nach Wahl der Spiel-CD entweder die Rolle des jungen Polizisten Leon S. Kennedy oder der Bikerin Claire Redfield, der Schwester von Chris Redfield, einem der spielbaren Charaktere des Vorgängers. Anstelle der einengenden Villa aus dem ersten Teil spielt die Handlung dieses Mal in Racoon City selbst wobei sich große Teile der Handlung im Polizeirevier von Racoon City abspielen. Die Stadt ist mittlerweile, ca. zwei Monate nach den Ereignissen des Vorgängers komplett von Zombies überrannt worden und die beiden Protagonisten merken schnell, dass man besser zusieht, dass man die Stadt so schnell wie möglich verlassen sollte.
"Resident Evil 2" war seinerzeit ein massiver Erfolg und wird auch heute noch von Fans des Franchise gerne als bester Teil der frühen Iterationen angesehen, wenn nicht sogar als bester "Resident Evil" überhaupt.
Fast auf den Tag genau 21 Jahre später erschien für die Playstation 4 das "Resident Evil 2 Remake", welches ebenfalls von Fans mit offenen Armen willkommen geheißen wurde.
Das Spiel wurde im Übrigen seinerzeit in Deutschland kurz nach seiner Veröffentlichung von der damaligen BPjS indiziert und erst 2014 frühzeitig vom Index gestrichen.

In the game you take, by choice of the matching game CD the role of either the young cop Leon S. Kennedy or the biker Claire Redfield, sister of Chris Redfield, one of the playable characters from the first game. Instead of the mansion from its predecessor the game this time takes place in Racoon City itself, where most parts of the plot play out in the police station of Racoon City. Roughly two months after the Spencer Manor incident the city has been overrun by Zomnbies completely and the two protagonists quickly realise that it would be the wiser choice to escape the city as soon as possible.
"Resident Evil 2" achieved critical acclaim upon its release and is considered by many fans of the franchise the best game of the early iterations, if not even the best "Resident Evil" game in general.
Almost exactly on the same day, just 21 years later the "Resident Evil 2 Remake" was released for the Playstation 4 in 2019 which also got a warm welcome from the fanbase.
The game was banned in germany shortly after its release by government authority BPjM but was prematurely unbanned in 2014 again, making it available and legal to be sold again in digital stores.
