You typically don't see first-party developers making games outside of their own consoles. For example, Nintendo never published games on the Sega Genesis. Why would they? They're the competitor. But in a shocking twist, Atari published many of their games on the competitor's consoles like the Intellivision and ColecoVision. Why would they do this, and was it effective?
