2The hype from “Ocean Avenue” together with the first single “Way Away'' which also received a good amount of airplay on radio and also had a music video with solid rotation on MTV2 led to a lot of interest in the album and so despite there being a pretty crowded field in the angsty punk-pop (pop-punk) genre in 2004, Yellowcard’s catchy riffs, choruses and the unique inclusion of a violin seems to have been enough to set their sound apart and the album went on to sell 1.8 million copies
