One Way Bay Ep.95 - Naming the River District and Setting up the Tram System - Cities Skylines
12We've come up with a name for the river district! After many comments and suggestions we have finally decided on Riverston
as the new name. We do a lot of work near the river in this episode.
We add trams to the area. After many suggestions, we have to place the tram depot in the district in order to get the system to work. Unfortunately, tram lines cannot cross the train tracks in the game. I'm assuming this is due to the overhead electrical wires. We might assume that the trains and trams run on different volts and so they can't cross each other but I can't be sure because I am not an electrician nor do I play one on YouTube. In fact, this theory is very likely wrong. Either way, we end up placing the tram depot near the center of the district.
We also start to zone the district with low density commercial and residential. We've zoned this district as leisure to hopefully develop the riverside area. We need to think up a name for this riverside street area. We begin to add some shrubbery to the paths next to the river. We will continue to do this in the next few episodes.
We also begin to get our schools set up in this area. We still need to continue to get our services set up in this district but we will do so as we get more money to work with. We begin to set up a bus line that links up to the Soothill district bus depot. We will continue to add bus lines in the next episode.
Finally, we notice that Soothill has officially begun to get industry to move in! After many episodes of trying to entice companies to move in, we finally have some. We will look into this some more in the next episode. The future is bright!
