Correction: Emulator B, Half Hardware (GPU) + Half Software (CPU), not the other way around.
And DNAS Bypass cheat is probably needed with Emulator B.

Linux Debian: Use "Flatpak/AppImage + Sockets", but if you want both Sockets & PCAP then build PCSX2 yourself and add the PCAP permissions from the last step of the PCSX2 APT section below.

Linux Ubuntu: Use "Flatpak/AppImage + Sockets", but if you want both Sockets & PCAP then build it yourself and add the PCAP permissions or install the PCSX2 APT Version (Optional for Sockets / Necessary for PCAP).

PCSX2 APT:
-Sockets/PCAP: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pcsx2-team/pcsx2-daily
-Sockets/PCAP: sudo apt update
-Sockets/PCAP: sudo apt install pcsx2-unstable
Either
-PCAP: sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' /usr/bin/pcsx2-qt
or
-PCAP: sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' /opt/pcsx2-unstable/pcsx2-qt

Linux Arch: Use "Flatpak/AppImage + Sockets", but if you want both Sockets & PCAP try using PCSX2 AUR (Read below) or build PCSX2 yourself and add the PCAP permissions from the last step of the APT section above, if those don't work then just stay on Sockets.

Linux SteamOS / Steam Deck: Use "Flatpak/AppImage + Sockets", but if you want PCAP you can try PCSX2 AUR (Read below) or build it yourself but i think you'd have to jump through big hoops in both cases because although SteamOS is based on Arch, it is immutable, so again, stick to Sockets, it works.
Alternatively you can dual boot SteamOS & Windows on the Steam Deck and use both Sockets & PCAP on the Windows system.
