Longest standing record, from November 2016 to May 2018. This category is called GSR (Ganondorf Source Requirement) now, but I'm keeping the original name for historical sake.

Finally did it, got the 1:15 in No IM/WW (1:15:59.43)

This is an old route with old strats, but is still the run I'm most proud of. It's easily the hardest GSR had ever been. Besides being chu perfect, I actually did this run bomb perfect too. No explosives wasted and only an absolute minimum of them.

This was intended to be a derust, as I hadn't played for a week or so (this was my first attempt since). As a result, there are some mistakes and sloppiness in the run, but it's solid overall. I was also adjusting to an old controller of mine that I brought back from the dead.

Three parts of the run in particular went poorly: Boat Skip (15s), this was due to it not doing equip skip, which was recently found but wasn't very consistent yet, and some extra pauses on Shadow BK Skip. My gold is otherwise ridiculous. Chu unlock, 15s, which I normally do unbuffered (if I do opt for buffered it's usually no more than 1 or 2 pauses), but was being safe, and I had a safe attack. Double Knuckles were not good either (10s), although a little extra timeloss came from not having enough bombs to hover trials skip.

Had good RNG throughout the run, which helped make up for some of the timeloss. I could've not lost 15s on chu unlock, but then didn't get a double rova or first try bombs, the good rng saved this run. Got all the bombs I needed, a double Rova, and a fast spirit hover despite the slow chu unlock, the guay not coming made it not as bad as it could've been, it's like a segment without the colossus superslide.

Finished the run bomb perfect after Spirit, going through with 11 bombs. I didn't skip HESS into Dorf's room because I was very confident that I would hit the 1 bomb superslide into Ganon. I hit 90% of standing 1 bomb superslides, but there was still a small chance at missing, especially under pressure.

Shoutouts to everyone who supported me along this journey to a time that back in spring people didn't even think was possible. It took serious dedication to get it, especially while dealing with personal and mental health problems around the time that made me nearly give up entirely. This run just happened, that's all there is to it.

Although this run wasn't perfect (could've been 25s faster easily), I had been working hard trying to get 1:15 for 7 months. A lot of difficult changes were going on in my life along the way. So I was reaching the end of my rope by the time I got this run. Controller issues didn't help, but I'd dug up an old controller and got this on my first run with it. Just seeing 1:15 was good enough, and I'll never forget this run. Somehow it meant more to clutch the 1:15 compared to getting a slightly lower time. That and finishing bomb perfect with the 1 bomb superslide and perfect Ganon fight just made this run so special to me.

I think it has aged pretty well. There are some things that may seem odd like my double knuckles. I was a bit superstitious about positioning and such and did a crouch stab door setup which I'd borrowed from Cma. The practice rom came out at the end of this year and that's when it became easier to iron some things out, especially movement timings. I did odd sidehops leaving Temple of Time that I thought were faster or even, but it was losing about a second to rolls each time.

By the end of the year and early 2017, the practice rom was released and over the years it advanced optimizations and helped people understand things a lot better. My safe double knuckles strat was some leftover superstition about it potentially not being consistent otherwise, but a little work with the practice rom later on made me realize it's extremely easy to not do that. Still, I think this run has aged pretty well overall coming up as being 7 years old.

Update for anyone who sees this run (it's embedded in my channel I think), my current PB is 1:13:50 (or 1:10:57 with the new timing of gaining control of Link). 1:12 was way easier to get given I'd improved a lot and the route was so much easier, but eventually I realized, it just wouldn't mean as much to me as this run did. So I passed off the torch to CountLG, an excellent player who got the first 1:12.

If you haven't followed him on twitch, go do it. He's very good, and he reminds me a lot of how I was developing as a player throughout 2016-2017, my prime years probably. Although by mid 2015 it was evident I was getting pretty good and set my first WR on 12/31/15. That run is quite average for the time and hasn't aged as well, but getting my 1:19 on the last day of the year meant a great deal. All I'd wanted was 1:19, I wasn't planning on WR, and almost skipped the 1:19. My gold on the last 2 splits were not that optimized. Regardless, the meta has developed tremendously since this 1:15.
