After the open beta for the gaming consoles sparked a huge spike in player interest, an original July 27 launch date for Portal 1.0 was changed to allow the studio to increase server capacity. “This popular platform shooter will remain subject to open beta for the foreseeable future,” said CEO Ian Proulx. “More than 10 million people downloaded it in its first 30 days of open beta.”
