As far as I'm concerned, Arkane does not miss. Starting with the first Dishonored back in 2012, they've put out masterpiece after masterpiece. Prey is an one of the best immersive sims ever made, and it was sadly overlooked for the most part. Deathloop has been advertised to death up to it's release today, and I hope that it's a success because it's phenomenal. The first hour and a half here doesn't tell the full story of how genius this game really is. It uses it's time loop formula in a way that makes the game feel fresh and fun every time you venture out. I don't want to explain too much here, but I would encourage anyone with a PlayStation 5 to check the game out. It uses a lot of the dualsense controllers features as well, like locking the trigger when your gun jams and haptic feedback when you run around. It also heavily utilizes the speaker in the controller. In this video you'll probably notice that Juliana's audio isn't coming through. That's because it was coming through my controller, and while it's a bit gimmicky I think it's an awesome way to take advantage of features you can only get on PS5. One other thing to note is that the game did freeze around 43 minutes in. That wasn't a recording issue, the game just locked up for about 30 seconds there. I've also heard the PC version has it's own issues, but I'm hopeful they can nail things down with a patch or 2 down the line.

Deathloop is described on Steam as follows: "DEATHLOOP is a next-gen FPS from Arkane Lyon, the award-winning studio behind Dishonored. In DEATHLOOP, two rival assassins are trapped in a mysterious timeloop on the island of Blackreef, doomed to repeat the same day for eternity."

Gameplay was recorded on a PlayStation 5 using an Elgato HD60S capture card.
