Opening Hour: Life is Strange: True Colors (Xbox Series X)
I love Life is Strange. I've always loved Life is Strange. I've played them all, and even though the first game is still my favorite I'm also a huge fan of Deck Nine's work on Before the Storm. I'll admit I was a little hesitant to see how they would handle a full new entry in the franchise, but my fears were almost immediately allayed. This game seems incredible if the first hour is any indication. Every character so far is interesting and likeable, and I love the emphasis on music. It's always been one of the franchises strengths, but this opening bit shows that they're leaning even harder into it. I truly can't wait to see the rest, and I'm glad I don't have to wait months in between each entry to find out. Time to binge.
Life is Strange: True Colors is described on Steam as follows: "Alex Chen hides her 'curse': the psychic power of Empathy, the ability to absorb the emotions of others. When her brother dies in a so-called accident, Alex must embrace her power to find the truth."
Gameplay was recorded on an Xbox Series X using an Elgato HD60S capture card.
Life is Strange: True Colors is available on: Steam, Stadia, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows Store. It should also become available on Nintendo Switch later in 2021. It's developed by Deck Nine and published by Square Enix.
