This video shows off the new mods that are programmed into the latest build of OpenITG, Roll and Twirl. They function pretty much like Dizzy, except instead of using the Z-axis as a base, they use the X and Y axis. I'm not sure which mod uses which axis.

A special two-sided 3D noteskin was also used, so that the backs of the arrows have texture when they spin around.

EDIT: I "wtf'd" at 1:43 because I noticed a graphical glitch with the hold head. You can see it in the down arrow, it looks like the head is still spinning.
