OpenTTD is a free, open source game where you run a transport company, delivering different goods and passengers using buses, trucks, trains, boats and airplanes. You can get the game from: http://www.openttd.org/

I've wanted to to do a video on this game for a while, but my normal video capture software would record it as it doesn't use DirectX or OpenGL. I'm using the same software I used to capture Banished.

I show off the basics of the game, building a few train tracks, show off how to set orders, setting up signals, and upgrading from a single track to dual tracks (one in each direction). I also set up some bus routes, that bring passengers to and from nearby train stations. Near the end of the video, I show of the overlay provided by the new 'Cargodist' feature that lets passengers and goods start at various stations and use the various routes you provide to get to their destination (previously you would have to set up complex orders and routing rules to have passengers at a bus station in one town to go to a bus station in another town by using a bus to a passenger train to get to the other town, and then using a second bus to get to a particular bus station in the destination town). 'Cargodist' will now have passengers do transfers between different forms of transport automatically, as long as there is a way to get where they want to go. The overlay that 'Cargodist' provides shows the demand and saturation of the various routes that you have set up.
