Widely considered an all-time classic, UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com: UFO Defense in North America) was part tactical combat, part base and empire management. Set against a backdrop of alien sightings and abductions, the game starts in January 1999 with the formation of the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit - X-COM. Lead Earth's finest soldiers, scientists and engineers as you race against time to understand and defeat the alien foe.

OpenXCom is an open-source remake which requires UFO: Enemy Unknown to work, and updates the game for multi-platform compatibility, adding stability fixes, bug fixes and opening the game up to mods. Included in this playthrough is the excellent Final Mod Pack, a huge collection of 70+ mods to add various weapons, technologies, missions and even alien races to the game.
