There were a couple of things I wanted to say but couldn't fit into the review.

1.) Going into the film I expected it to be good but not amazing, and in a way I was correct. It was still great, but for a Christopher Nolan film I don't think this his best work. To me Christopher Nolan is at a point in his career, and has been making movies for so long, that he's comfortable in his position, and isn't willing to push himself to make "trailblazing" content anymore. Like is this movie anymore innovative or interesting as 'Inception' or 'Memento'. I'd say no.
2.) What was the deal with the Black n White scenes? I was trying to figure out what the point was behind them. At first I thought it was a tool to help the audience figure out what time period we were in. But that wasn't consistent. Maybe it was for a specific scene or specific character, but that wasn't the case either. At the end, I came to the conclusion it was just there to look pretty ๐Ÿ‘Ž

CLARIFICATION: Something being poetic isn't bad. You need poetic writing sometimes to convey complex ideas. But I just felt like there were too many moments in this film where the "flowery" writing was unnecessary, and a more simple approach would have been more effective. Sometimes dumbing things down is what's best to properly convey the information you wanted conveyed.
