Orbus VR December Stress Test 1 - VR Gameplay HTC Vive
A fun experience with a frustrating server...
Orbus VR is really fun and I'm really hyped for it. However... The server was pretty bad this test. Constant crashes and desync issues plagued the test. Please remember, it's pre-alpha and this is a stress test. It's supposed to break the game. That doesn't change that it was a bit frustrating to constantly lose connection. I cut several crashes and attempted log ins from the video but left some of them to illustrate that the game is still very much in an early build.
When it works though, it's great. We have voice chat now. Trackpad locomotion! Fishing is in. The Rework of the Orbhealer which I really liked. Some basic SAO UI was added. We even have our first NPC and quest! Though it's pretty buggy too... There were a lot of fundamental changes to the game in this test and all of them were in a good direction IMO. The core gameplay is fun between crashes so I think the current priority is stability for the next test.
The Berserker wasn't playable sadly but it's still being worked on.
Priorities IMO
1. Server stability
2. Locomotion refinement
3. Mob AI and pathing
4. UI/UX and persistence
