Orcallmorus - Almerta Pokedex Entry
0So uh I actually had some old Fakemon drawings in my files, and seeing as I was fresh out of new ideas for a bit of YT content, I figured, why the heck not? Orcallmorus was one of the first ones I made, which it is the first stage of its water starter lineup I created, which is slightly different from the normal 3 stage evos of the main pokemon games’ starters, but I’ll get into it if you guys feel like learning a bit more. Anyways, the theme for this fakemon and its lineup (as well as the other two starters I made) is about evolution, emotion, and impact on the world around them.
As part of the starter trio that represents those themes, I had each of the starters embody a certain flaw that either hinders their abilities to communicate or clouds their head with thoughts of negativity. The three traits I picked were disability, egotism, and trauma, each of which is commonly seen as a negative trait of any sort. The trait that Orcallmorus represents is disability, which is personal to me for a number of reasons. The biggest reason that Orcallmorus’ evolution line is personal to me, however, is what it represents both specifically and as a whole.
See, Orcallmorus in its first stage represents disability in a functional way. As said in the video, Orcallmorus isn’t the brightest pokemon and being outright deaf does it no favors. The more obvious disability that you guys will no doubt point out is that it’s completely deaf, so part of the design for Orcallmorus is that it has no open ears or ear lobes or ear holes to even listen with. There is a more subtle hint at a second disability it inherits, but it gets explored further in its final evolution stage’s pokedex, or at least one of its final evolution stages’ pokedex. Yes, you heard me: I said ONE OF its final evolution stages. There will be a mechanic that will introduce the idea of starters not chosen having a different final evolution if caught from the wild instead of an offspring being traded from somewhere else or if they were chosen instead.

— Resembling a living fossil and a modern ocean dweller at the same time, Orcallmorus have been sought after by many Pokemon professors over many centuries, to the point where they are on the brink of extinction. Not helping this is the fact that unlike most Pokemon, these fun loving porpoises are unable to hear anything, so it has trouble understanding even the most simple instructions. This also affects their brain, as Orcallmorus aren’t exactly the smartest Pokemon either, falling prey to many traps that even a child can see past.
Personal Ability: White Noise
Ignores any move that would otherwise stun, infatuate, or cause drowsiness to the pokemon, even if the opposing pokemon using a move that inflicts any of those statuses that guarantees a hit.
