Ori And The Will Of The Wisps Review (PC) | A Perfect Mix Of Ori, Hollow Knight And Zelda
Time for our Ori And The Will Of The Wisps review. Matthew has vanished into Moon Studio’s visually stunning Metroidvania and thinks its an almost perfect sequel: adding a bit of Hollow Knight and Zelda magic to the existing Ori formula for the one of the best platformers we’ve played in years. Enjoy this Ori And The Will Of The Wisps PC gameplay.

Ori Will of the Wisps, aka Ori and the Blind Forest 2, is out on PC and Xbox One any minute now - included on Xbox Game Pass if you’ve got that. Our Ori Will Of The Wisps review was put together on PC - we hear about a few technical issues on Xbox One, but found this very polished. There’s a written Ori 2 review on the RPS site, but they loved it too, so it’s gushing praise however you tackle it. We’ve kept the review spoiler-free, story wise, though it obviously shows areas and powers from throughout the game. We’ve included footage of one of Ori And The Will Of The Wisps bosses, but kept it pretty light.
As you’ll hear in our Ori And The Will Of The Wisps test, we game borrows a lot of ideas from Hollow Knight - especially in its combat - but also borrows some cool dungeon tricks from Zelda, which we really enjoy. Does it still hold up as Metroidvania as a result? You’ll have to watch the review and see. We also test out Ori and the Will of the Wisps combat, putting a giant hammer to the test. We were worried about Ori the Will of the Wisps having too much fighting, but it’s really slick and slots into the action as if it had always been there.
