OSVR / STEAMVR / LEAP MOTION
Testing using the leap motion mounted onto the HMD front. Not perfect but pretty damn good and at least now SteamVR thinks I have controllers! There's not a lot to the setup but I'd recommend peeling off the black rubber foot of the leap as mine would not stick to anything until I did this, then use double sided sticky pads to put it onto the HMD. DONT PUSH TOO HARD!! I could see the cover of the HMD bending.
Then follow the tutorial here:-
http://www.vrspies.com/realitycheckvr/leap-motion-controllers-are-working-in-steamvr-how-to-guide/
This covers all the downloads you need, how to set it up etc. It's not perfect but its a good start. I think this would work well with some physical controllers wired up too.
And you are good to go. Now I'm off to play!! :)
