PM Modi, during his address in Mehsana, Gujarat, recounted the difficulties faced by women of North Gujarat two decades ago and said that the problems faced by their sisters resulted in the water revolution in the country. He further said that the Gujarat model of providing tap water to every household in the state has been replicated nationally in the form of Jal Jeevan Mission which is changing the lives of people. He also credited the success of the dairy sector to women of Gujarat and said that the constitution of more than 800 village dairy cooperative societies and increase in milk production is an example of the same.
