Outlast is a first person, psychological, survival horror game. Developed and published by Red Barrels. The game was released on September 4, 2013 for Microsoft Windows and scheduled for a PlayStation 4 release early 2014.
In the game "Outlast" we play as independent journalist Miles Upshur. He gets a tip from an anonymous source saying that horrible things are taking place at Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation. Miles breaks in to the facility and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.
