Zeus presents 'OUTRUN' (un-emulated) on the Atari STE, a homebrew mod of the ST version from the more current era of Atari ST gaming which should not be forgotten alongside the programmer that was involved in making this update.

Year of release: 2019

Utter crap when the original came out back in 1988 for the Atari ST, awful colours, slow frame-rate with no enjoyment factor, roll on to 2019 and this modded version for the STe was created.
The good points: far better colours, the car now resembles the arcade version and the speed of the game has been increased making it far more enjoyable.
The bad points: still plays like crap, still multiload until you play all the tracks then they are all in the bank, car too skitty and skids off the road easily, still only one crappy ending for all 5 stages, still changes the tune everytime you either pass a checkpoint or crash which is infuriating and I do not like the gearstick showing in top of the screen as It's ver off putting, would be far better in the bottom corner.
It's no doubt far better than the original ST version but It's very difficult to polish dog shit and turn it into gold.
I have used the extra time cheat so I could upload the entire game (all 5 courses, all 15 tracks) for your viewing pleasure.
