I actually recorded this video ages ago, it was an experiment to see what gameplay capture came out like using OBS on my PC using my Elgato HD rather than the (shit) proprietary Elgato software. OBS is what I generally use for most of my PC video captures nowadays instead of FRAPS. I've since uploaded a TON of gameplay this way, as not long after I recorded this, it just so happened I got involved in several multiplayer games of Outrun Online Arcade and Daytona USA.

On the whole, the capture from the device is generally good quality, but the software itself is a pain in the arse. For some ridiculous reason, it takes an absolute age to actually fucking launch when I click on it - mostly just shy of about 10 minutes to finally pop up after I've clicked on the icon in the task bar. It also has a nasty habit of just randomly corrupting the video footage some times, after it's been recording for a little bit. Also, if it's decided to corrupt a video file in the middle of recording, it'll then corrupt any subsequent recording afterwards, unless you re-boot your PC and then go through the whole lengthy rigmarole of re-loading the software. FFS!

This has lead to some EXTREMELY frustrating moments when I've been trying to complete a particularly difficult challenge in a game, like, something that's so hard I'd only want to attempt it the one time, and upon finally doing it I've found the footage has fucked up and is unusable...

So yeah, if OBS can do the same job and keep the quality level the same, so much the better!
