Overwatch balancing over the past year has flattened a lot of the differences between heroes so they align with the expectations of the ROLE Tank Damage Support more clearly, Overwatch 2 will continue this with role passives. Between more offensive minded tanks, less overwhelming defenses in general, the game plays around MAP CONTROL like it never really has before. Which means that although perhaps some of the diversity of hero design is a bit less interesting than at launch the competitive variety is incredibly diverse. I really couldn't be happier with how this has played out, multiple comps are playable if you're on the right map for them, or learn how they work, that's a dream scenario for Overwatch!
