Currently Blizzard has the PTR (Public Test Realm) server online, where everyone is able to test the Competitive Play Mode and give feedback on it. Basically it's a gmae mode in which you can evaluate your own skill and get certain rating which allows you to compare your performance to those of others. Blizzard decided to go with a 1 to 100 Skill-Rating where 100 is the top of the top and 1 represents the absolute beginners. they ahve you play 10 placement matches after which you get you own rating which you can improve further by improving your overall gameplay obviously, but it is also possible to fall down in rating. this non restricted up and down movement of your skill-rating is in my opinion a very good system overall but lacks a bit on achievable goals. So I think it would be beneficial to set certain points within the 1 to 100 range that allow player to focus on as their goal.

For those who don't know what Overwatch is:

Overwatch is the newest Blizzard game it is a team oriented First Person Shooter (FPS) with objective based gameplay. The 6 players of each team go up against each other on different maps where they have to accomplish a map specific objective to win the game. Each player is able to choose one of the 21 available Heroes currently in the game, important to note is that it is possible to switch to other Heroes throughout the match, this Hero-switching is essential part of the gameplay as it allows teams to change and adapt their strategy.
