Oxygen Not Included: Heat rising comparison
Left hand side: 100 kg Oxygen Gas tiles at 0 or 100 C. Right hand side: 1100 kg Ethanol tiles at 0 or 70 C.
Gases have a form of true convection, heat is moved around by the fluid (gas) moving, carrying heat with it. This includes a heat rising effect in that vertical tile swaps are only allowed if a hotter tile is underneath a colder tile. Liquids pools do not have convection, as liquid tiles do not swap place. There is however a heat rising effect, in that if a hotter tile is underneath a colder tile, the heat conduction upwards is dramatically increased.
