Ozone layer is present in the earths atmosphere and shields the surface of the earth from ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the Sun. There is bad ozone formed in the lower atmosphere (troposphere) that harms plants and animals and also good ozone found in the upper part of the atmosphere called the stratosphere. It contains three oxygen atoms \( \left(\mathrm{O}_{3}\right) \) which are formed as a consequence of

This decrease has been linked to synthetic chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which are used as refrigerants and in - fire extinguishers.
