P51D short montage: weapons that don't kill.
In my P51D clip I've received some comments about how I can expect the 50 cals to do any work if I can't aim with them. To be honest the video I put up show just two cases of long bursts failing to do any damage, and yes, my aiming there sucks nuts (to put it softly). That was maybe the 9th or 10th game in a row with the P51D getting no results and I was getting seriously tilted and angry as a consequence, and was rushing shots. it might appear as me not being able to aim...far from the truth, however.
Guys you have to understand this. After the HB hiatus I took, I flew this plane maybe for 30+ missions, in different days, scoring just ONE kill. During those games I had some excellent instances of the weapons doing nothing at all. Most of the footage I captured I deleted on the spot to make space in my hard drive, but from the few (only a handful) videos I have left I have extracted this sequences. Remember, this aren't the worst I had (with the exception of the pass on the Mustang I, that was bloody stupid), but I think showcase the problem pretty well.
I'm not one to do a plane analysis by jumping on a plane and extracting fast conclussions. I fly them for long times, take the time to actually feel how they perform in a lot of consecutive games, and extract my conclussions for the analysis that way. The P51D I've flown extensively, and if you go to my comments on the plane from 2 weeks+ ago (in the forums, for instance) you'll see that I always say that the 50 cals do their job.
Well, they did. Not anymore, however. Something has happened that has killed the weapon's ability to shoot down enemies. And this video is but a poor attempt to showcase it.
Disclaimer: No enemy planes were killed during the sequences you can see in this video. None at all.
