3.5" floppies MF-2DD for use in my MSX2, Atari ST, Amiga 500 and 1581 cbm disk drive
PC Started out using 5.25" 160Kb single sided disks, that were updated to 320Kb double sided disks. There are less frequently used 720Kb and 1.2Mb formats on latest 5.25" drives.
Before the 5.25" format there where 8" floppy disks but these were not very standardized and a lot of companies used their own capacities and formats.
When the 3.5" format came out the first disks were actually single sided disks but it soon became DD DS disks storing 720Kb on the PC/ST/MSX (800Mb on the Mac or 880Mb on the Amiga)
Later on came 1.44Mb 3.5" HD and even 2.88Mb 3.5" ED disks. I only ever used 1.44Mb HD floppies.
