This time around we're answering questions for intellectual glory, (maybe) in the game Blockbusters by TV Games on the Commodore 64! Blockbusters is a game I have fond memories of growing up bridging the gap between the kids programs ending on ITV in the afternoon and "adult time" starting at 6:00pm with the news. A game primarily played by students and hosted by the lovable Bob Holness the aim of the game was to answer questions of the corresponding letter on the tile in order to bridge the gap from left to right or top top bottom. Even though going across meant answering more questions correctly that was done by a team of 2 whereas the opponent going from top to bottom played alone. Although the computer version on any of the platforms of the time can't do the gameshow justice this game still hits all the nostalgia glands! Let's hope I can do the game justice... or not.

Bob Holness hosted this fondly-remembered quiz show, in which students competed to answer enough questions correctly to complete a run of answers across the board. This was the latest and most sophisticated computer version of the concept.
The exact mechanics of the game have been customized slightly. You start by choosing a question, which are all represented by the first letter of the answer. You must 'buzz in' by pressing your letter to input the answer (don't worry about exact spelling). If you get the question wrong, the computer chooses a square (seemingly with no strategy). In two player games each player has their own buzzer, and a correct answer sees you choose the next question. A digitized version of Bob's face reads out the questions - just be careful if you get any where the answer is 'organism'...
