This has been requested a few times and I'm happy to finally have an answer. It's largely up to you for what you want to make of it; Everyone practices their own way. There's no set way on how to perfect your aim.

I will say, playing a lot is a huge factor in improvement, but drilling can help give you an edge by isolating the parts you're struggling with and reaching a satisfactory level within a few 20-30 minute sessions. This is how I got comfortable with Sha Lin in about 2 days.
