Panel | Public Persona: Strategies for Public Speaking and Presentations
The National Social Anxiety Center reports that “the fear of public speaking is the most common phobia ahead of death, spiders, or heights,” and public speaking anxiety affects approximately 40% of people. Add in neurodivergent conditions, and many people would rather just leave the presenting to someone else. However, you may be called upon to make presentations as part of your job, or you may wish to build the skill of public speaking as a way to be seen as an expert and a leader. Whether you have to or want to, there are effective strategies you can employ. Our neurodivergent panelists, all of whom present regularly to groups large and small, will share what works for them, including how to handle feedback.
