"Paper Bowser" finally goes on a FULL-FLEDGED adventure!
3Ahh... good ol' King Bowser. The well-known villain who turned hundreds of innocent Toads into bricks & other weird objects (google it up, guys), kidnapped Princess Peach more times than anyone could keep track of, and the welder of some crazy powerful dark magic. One could easily say that the king of the koopas is undeniably a force to be reckoned with [and I can't deny that, since I've played almost every mario game], but did you know that his own strength/power was actually outmatched by his paper counterpart in "Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam" at one point?
Long story short here, "Paper Bowser" comes from the Paper Mario RPG/Action-Adventure Game Series, and those games take place within' a magic book that exists somewhere deep within' Peach's Castle within' the primary Mario Universe. [As seen in "Paper Jam".] And that flat version of bowser is exactly the same as his primary counterpart... only he's just beaming with lovable & redeemable qualities. He's been through quite a lot, but he's the only version of bowser who actually had a playable role in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door"... only through a series of playable "Super Mario Bros-like" stages. (And those stages were enjoyable, because those finally gave us an proper inside-look at what the guy's been doing behind the scenes, despite them only being playable after Mario obtains a crystal star at the end of each chapter.)
But it was only two years after "Thousand Year Door" released when somebody thought about making those Paper Bowser segments of the game into a completed fan-made adventure of it's own... and it's hilariously GENIUS! If you've been dying to get your hands on a bowser-centered game, then perhaps this little number could do you a lot of good. The only objective you'll need to follow in this fan-game is saving Princess Peach from... wait-- MARIO!? (Or if you choose to play as "Kammy Koopa"... simply finding her stolen wand.) The game's plot doesn't get anymore complex than that, and the overall flow of the game really makes playing as Bowser himself feel more like a massive reward than unexpectedly finding hidden "HAL Doors" in Return to Dreamland. If you want to play a great platformer that breaks the mold of what makes a Mario Game work, then I advise that you get your hands on this game when you're completely free. The game has more than 16 levels of destructive & rule-breaking fun that I'm sure a lot of Mario Fans would fall in love with the moment they step foot into this game's first level, and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on a golden opportunity like this to play a quality fan-game like this! {The link to said fan-game is down below.
